Opportunity:

We have a need for a process automation engineering designer/programmer located in the Benelux.

  • Estimate/manage projects if applicable
  • Provide engineering support for projects
  • Identify training/resource needs for projects
  • Interface with the customer on-site
  • Develop relationship with the client to enable ongoing business and  growth opportunities
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the MAVERICK management team for this client

Technical Responsibilities:

  • These services are being requested to complete staffing requirements of projects to meet business staffing plans. The identified project resource will typically be    assigned to projects with duration of 1 to 2 years.
  • Formalized training will be provided by the client as well as personal mentoring to achieve desired target skill efficiency.
  • The control system platform is a client-developed, proprietary control system based on a proprietary programming language, which candidates will be fully trained on.  The client is utilizing Operator Station and/or X-GPI.
 
Required Skills:

BSChE or BSEE preferred
5+ years experience required, 10+ years preferred

Successful candidate skills/attributes:

  • Excellent team building, leadership, people and coaching skills, with the ability to develop the business and nurture a relationship with the customer.
  • Previous management experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with distributive control systems (DCS) and/or PLCs.
  • Batch manufacturing process experience in the Chemical, Oil & Gas industries
  • Experience with basic chemical engineering principles is a plus. Individuals should be capable of understanding the plant process and basic unit operations to assist with the conceptual design of process control strategies for process modifications and plant expansions. The successful candidate will then be responsible for implementing code, system simulation, operator training and commissioning support as a member or leader of the project team.
  • Understanding of quality principles such as cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practices). 

Hands-on, field experience in chemical manufacturing plants with process commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and troubleshooting a major plus.
