We are looking for a highly analytical and motivated person to join the Hamilton Collection as a Market Research Analyst!  This person will serve as the analytical and research resource for the organization.  This individual will identify and recommend new market segments and affinities through analyzing and understanding customer buying behavior to meet/exceed revenue and profit plans.  This role will work closely with Marketing, Product Development, and support teams recommending opportunities.  In addition, this person will prepare and execute assigned direct marketing plans.  Also, this role will be responsible for overseeing all mainframe and promotional planning work to ensure accurate fulfillment and just in time inventory management.



  • Analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand.
  • Define each market/affinity for product growth based on customer/market data
  • Work with outside list brokers and Midwest Lists to analyze customer acquisition market to identify new market segments and create formats for market expansion and report on findings
  • Plan, design and analyze data interacting with end-users to determine requirements and pertinent data required to develop and report on findings
  • Work with R&A to develop annual customer research projects to elicit customer opinions and to assist team to better understand the customer and develop future marketing/product development strategies
  • Implement quarterly competitive analysis presentations analyzing pricing, product and sales information
  • Maximize response and ROI through effective planning, analyzing and implementation of Housefile and New Customer Acquisition campaigns to create optimal circulation mail plans
  • Provide creative direction for all campaigns identifying each component with form numbers and specs.  Review layouts for accuracy.
  • Review and analyze inventory needs monthly using Mainframe and Sourcing data spreadsheets to minimize overbuying and maximize just-in-time inventory management strategy.
  • Develop knowledge of the Manufacturing process to effectively manage inventory ordering, management, and campaign mail dates
  • Identify new opportunities to optimize growth initiatives, define requirements, and follow through to implementation
Required Skills:  
  • Bachelors degree in Business, preferably in Marketing, Economics, Finance or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in a direct mail or direct response marketing analytics related position
  • Creative thinker; excellent quantitative analytical skills and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office, specifically solid relational database proficiency, SQL, and MS Access preferred
  • Proficient in Math
  • Ability to communicate well, both written and verbal, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Prior supervisory/management experience preferred
