Opportunity:  

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Inventory Control Manager to join our Logistics Department at our Distribution Center, located in Bensenville, IL.  This individual will be responsible for ensuring maintenance and accuracy of inventory through inventory control, transactions documentation and maintaining policies and standard procedures to achieve accurate financial inventory information. Duties including but not limited to:  establishing procedures to ensure inventory accuracy, physical inventories, out of stock process, completing process mapping and gap analysis and devise new procedures, and manage destruction process and related efforts.  This is accomplished through a comprehensive analysis of inventory transactions to identify and resolve practices that are responsible for inventory discrepancies.   This individual will directly supervise 3 staff responsible for Cycle Counting.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain inventory data integrity and track accuracy of inventory
  • Establish positive working relationships with other departments to build inventory accuracy and streamline work processes
  • Conduct and analyze inventory cycle counts daily to identify errors and opportunities, initiate corrective action and make necessary adjustments
  • Conduct gap analysis and research root causes of inventory discrepancies to drive inventory accuracy, efficiency and quality of work
  • Design and implement written procedures of inventory transactions for receipts, identification and storage of products
  • Monitors and audits transactions such as receipts, transfers and store shipments performed by the distribution team
  • Supervise, direct and coordinate activities for the Cycle Counting non-exempt clerk, ensuring that departmental practices and procedures as well as company policies are being followed
 
Required Skills:  
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Finance, Statistics, Quantitative Business Analysis or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in Logistics or related field
  • Proven management/supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have knowledge of receiving, stock room and inventory control principles
  • Strong process and technical knowledge
  • Experience with Process Mapping and Gap Analysis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • APICS/CPIM certification preferred
  • Financial/Accounting background preferred
