Scope of work: 

• This position is a enterprise level view of QA.
• The person should have strong knowledge of Automation testing, design skills and utilize those skills to develop enterprise level manual and automated tests. Additionally, the candidate should understand Load / Performance testing.
• Candidate should also have a broad and in depth understanding of Business Process Testing (BPT) and be able to script BPT  
• In Addition to functional and enterprise understanding, candidate should possess technical skills especially in LoadRunner.
• The appropriate candidate will work from existing documentation to perform automated testing using HP/Mercury's Quick Test Professional (QTP). 
• The candidate will be tasked with writing and executing test scripts, assist with the development of an automation regression test suite, and perform automation framework implementation. 
• The candidate will need to be able to perform under minimal supervision on significantly complex testing projects.
• Ensure that tests cases and keywords are automated efficiently and effectively. Consult with development and other test designers on software and system design which facilitates test automation
• Ensure application & technology teams clearly understand the interface between system design and test design and how to design for test automation. Leverage test automation knowledge, learnings, and skills across projects. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for projects to embrace test automation that delivers deep coverage and limits deployment risk
• Participate in reviews and inspections that pertain to the inputs to test automation as well as the test automation code. Ensure that there is a closed loop from the system design to the test design to the test automation to the defects identified
• Leverage system and test automation expertise in reviews and inspections. Working with other test designers, ensure that each defect found is analyzed for source and solution, and that any modified tests result in verifying/modifying automation modules.
• Implement the test automation strategy within the test architecture framework. Input to the test automation strategy. Support system test automation activities in accordance with Application Test Center policies and standards.
• Support the continued quality of all systems. Provide high quality test automation support.
• Input to the Application Test Center infrastructure ensuring test automation systems that meet the requirements of projects.
• Identify opportunities to control costs and maintain service levels while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.

• Five to Seven years of automation experience using the HP’s Quick Test Pro (QTP) tool.  
• Two years of hands on BPT (Business Process Testing) experience.
• Must have experience in designing automation solutions using a “Keyword” driven approach
• Must have experience using Descriptive Programming techniques.  Must be able to explain in detail what descriptive programming is and may be asked for a sample of work.
• Must have extensive knowledge in VB Script
• Three to Five years of hands on experience writing advanced SQL queries Experience with Agile process and SCRUM methodologies
• Previous project/test management/planning experience
• Solid scripting and programming skills (with emphasis on C/C++, Visual Basic, VBScript, Java, SQL and Batch Files)
• Understanding of software architecture technologies (e.g. HTML, VB, .Net, XML, Java, Web Services, SOA, SOAP, Unix/Linux knowledge)

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with a key word driven automation framework
• Knowledge of Perl or other type(s) of scripting a plus
• Knowledge of SOA testing a plus
