BCS has been asked to indentify a Java Tech Lead for one of our clients.

The initial duration of this project is Long Term

Scope of work: 

·         Lead, design, development, testing and implementation of high performance/high availability Java based application for Purchase Order Management business users. Must be a leader and team player with capability to work in tandem with the development team, various Engineering teams and business users. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required.

·         Candidate must have 8+ years experience designing and developing Objected Oriented application with a minimum of 5+ years of Java development and lead experience

·         Experience in mentoring and leading medium/large teams of developers technically.

·         Combine industry and technical expertise to lead and develop innovative software solutions.

·         Provide leadership and ownership of project deliverables.

·         Review deliverables from team members and mentor them on development practices, language, frameworks, tools and methodology.

·         Define and document technical design and architecture and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

·         Define and implement software using established design patterns, industry best practices and enterprise standards.

·         Demonstrate proficient understanding of business processes being delivered by the software solution, examine tradeoffs between usability and performance needs of the system and provide alternatives.

·         Profile, analyze and optimize software solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements and business service level agreements.

·         Provide leadership in estimation processes, track overall development schedule including outstanding tasks and dependencies across modules and projects.

·         Drive domain modeling through active participation with Business & IT stakeholders.

·         Support testing processes, work with team members to resolve issues.

·         Partner and network with other developers, architects, SMEs and other IT team members to develop solutions in compliance with established enterprise standards

• Effectively communicate with team members and business users.

• Ability to design and implement an appropriate architecture to support cross platform environments that provide scalability and failover.
• Ability to recognize and implement common design patterns.
• Expertise in IT infrastructure issues and non-functional requirements (security, load-balancing, state-management, performance tuning, alerts, application monitoring, auditing, logging, usage patterns, capacity planning).
• Experience in Requirements Gathering and Effort Estimation.
• At least 1+ year of hands on development experience web services.
• Object Oriented Design (and UML Diagramming)
• J2EE Design Patterns
• WebSphere Application Server
• Java 1.5 / J2EE 1.4 (EJB, Servlets, JCA, JDBC, JSP, JSF, Swing, JMS)
• Application Development with Spring (bean configuration, integrating Spring with database, JMS, transactions), Hibernate, CXF.
• Web Development (XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
• Web Services and SOAP, Web Services on WAS 6.1 with JAX-WS
• Rich Internet Applications (RIA), Adobe Flash, Flex
• Database Concepts (SQL, ER Diagrams)
• Oracle and/or DB2 database software
• MS SQL Server
• Operating System – Windows, Unix
• Domain Driven Design & Modeling, Data Modeling
• IBM MQ
